United Communities and Solon South West housing associations have a long history of supporting the communities in which we are based.
Both organisations are committed to making a difference in those communities and to supporting the most vulnerable.
That’s why we’ve come together to launch our Coronavirus Community Fund. The fund offers grants of up to £5,000 to community groups and organisations in the communities in which Solon South West and United Communities operate, predominantly Bristol and the surrounding areas.
Over the last couple of months, we have received significant interest and applications for funding. We have so far been able to support 20 community groups delivering vital projects and services to support our communities during the Coronavirus outbreak.
As the ‘lockdown’ is starting to lift, our key focus now with our remaining funding is supporting community groups with their recovery as they adjust to the ‘new normal’. We want to help community groups sustain themselves so that they can continue to provide valuable support to our residents and their communities over the longer term.
We are now particularly keen to receive applications from community groups:
- That we have not yet supported.
- Helping people with disabilities or arts/creative projects in all areas we operate.
- Working in all priority themes (see FAQs for more information) within Lockleaze, Southmead and South Gloucestershire.
Applications should be received by 5pm on Friday 31st July 2020 and will be evaluated as soon as possible after that date.
